Narakuyama. Its stench would sicken the average man half to death. Even outside the limits of the night hell the residents of Habundo steered clear, scared of what could emerge from the shadowy depths. It was pathetic, they all knew that the Soul Police parolled the borders, nothing could get out without a good fight.
The thoughts and actions of peasants were of no concern to me however. Tonight I was here on business, propoganda and orders had directed me along this path, and I had a new set of orders to fill. There I stood, my cigar in my mouth and the end glowing orange in the darkness. I stood, my hands in the deep and warming pockets of my trench coat, watching the operation from against a half crumbled wall.
My subordinate stood nearbye, his body shaking, lip quivering. He turned constantly, looking around to see what lurked in the shadows of the night.
"Relax, take a break." I said to him, a grin upon my lips. I would take the cigar out of my mouth, blowing the thick smog out into the air, a smirk.
"H-how can I relax in a p-place like t-his? There's c-reatures ever-" He would mumble to me in a pitiful babble, cut off however by an spine tingling howl from the distance. Silence befell us, and from the darkness a host of yellow orbs and snarling. This was why I was here tonight.
I climbed off the wall quickly, signalling to my captain with a click of the fingers. "Get your team ready to fire, I want them alive and in cages in 5 minutes." I explained to the man, who quickly relayed the order to his team. Soon after, gun shots and howling..
Meanwhile, I would make the last order for the time being. "Up the Soul Energy outage, we need more of these creatures if the plan is going to work. Lets only hope that we don't attract anything else." I would say, my head turning towards the entrance to Narakuyama, the gate way into Habundo. If any Humans made their way over in curiosity, things would become that bit more complicated.
